I'm sorry this didn't work. It's so disappointing when sequels just don't fit the original series.
The sad part is that it wouldn't really have been that bad, if it hadn't been a new instalment in the Sweet Valley universe. As light reading, it was quite an entertaining read. But the characterisation ruined it for me!
